TRIO OF BLOOMS

Good Morning people of Blogland, back again with another card. Hope you are well, happy and enjoying this fabulous weather we are having.  The last 2 summers have been fantastic really.  With that in mind I thought I'd blog a summery floral corsage card.  It is actually one of my closest friends birthday card.  She was really happy with it, and so am I. This card involves stamping, heat embossing and die cutting.  The finished size is A5.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

LILAC CENTURA PEARL CARD
SILVER HOLOGRAPHIC CARD
DOUBLE SIDED SHEET
CENTURA PEARL SNOW WHITE CARD
PINK SHIMMER PAPER
SUE WILSON LEAVES DIE (CREATIVE EXPRESSIONS)
ORNATE SQUARES DIE (SPELLBINDERS)
GREEN CARD
VINTAGE FLORAL EMBOSSING FOLD (CRAFTER'S COMPANION)
EMBELLISHMENT BLING AND RIBBON
CHLOE'S FLORAL STAMPS LARGE AND SMALL
BRILLIANCE ORCHID INK
IRIDESCENT GLITTER
SAN TROPEZ SANDS EMBOSSING POWDER (WOW)
PERFECT MEDIUM CLEAR INK
SMALL LABEL DIE (CRAFTER'S COMPANION DIE'SIRE)
RANGERS PEARL GLUE

Cut a base for your card from the Lilac Centura Pearl to measure A5.
Keeping a 1cm border around the lilac card layer with silver holographic card
Emboss the snow white centura pearl using the vintage floral rose folder. Ink around the edge with the Orchid ink and layer leaving a fine holographic border
Die Cut 2 Holographic Ornate Squares, Cover a piece of white card with the double sided sheet and die cut a single square (this may take a few turns through the Grand Calibre due to the added thickness)
Once cut, peel off and cover with iridescent glitter. Burnish the glitter into the square with your fingers
Stamp the pink shimmer paper with both sizes of flower using perfect medium.  As its clear, I find it easy to cover each stamp with embossing powder to enable you to see where you have stamped.  Fill the A4 sheet with the two sizes of flowers. Heat until the powder melts and the bling shows through.
Cut out and curl the flower shapes and build into a larger  full bloom and two small smaller blooms
Attach all the die cuts together layering the white glittered square in the centre of the two holographic die cuts
Die cut 2 sets of the Sue Wilson leaves,
Arrange the 2 smaller flowers either side of the large bloom, decorate the leaves and ribbon around and secure under the blooms.  Finish the flowers with bling in the centre.  I used hobby house topaz range.
Attach a small label with the sentiment required.
Finish using Ranger Lilac Pearl glue around the frame to complete a pearl border.

That's all for today folks.  Thank you so much for your time visiting my blog I appreciate your time and energy.  Please feel free to leave any comment, good or bad.  I appreciate all feedback.  So for now, Take Care, Keep Smiling and be happy people.

Lots of love and crafty hugs

Create a box from Create a Card

Hello to Everyone of Blogland,

This is really just a very quick post today.  I am currently trying to improve my computer skills which I've got to say are getting better slowly but there's still along way to go.I am going to admit to you all that, I haven't uploaded as much as I was as I'm finding it hard going making and uploading to my blog.  Having Chiari and Osteoarthritis, I do find it very hard to multi task. I get so tired but I will try to upload regularly so please bare with me.  I'm trying.

Yesterday I was notified I achieved top 3 placing in the June Challenge which was Boxes, Bags and Tags.  I entered a Box made from the Create a Card die, Centura Pearl, Pink Holographic card, Pink Ribbon.  the floral decoration on the top was made using the desire rose die and decorating using die cut leaves and ribbon. Added some pearls to finish.

Thanks for taking the time to come over for a visit.  Please feel free to leave any comments, good or bad.  Until next time, take care, keep smiling and above all be happy.

Lots of crafty Love and Hugs

CHRISTMAS DECO DANCE

Hello to the people of Blogland, thanks for popping in to see me.  Hope you are enjoying your day.  Going on the computer used to fill me with absolute horror at one time.  I am still learning and a bit of a technophobe, but I have to admit, I am enjoying sharing my crafty journey with you.  In truth, I nearly gave up cardmaking a few years ago when I was first diagnosed with Chiari Malformation. The reason I didn't was down to a brilliant cognative therapist  who coaxed me into starting to believe in myself.  Not only was it good to keep my brain ticking but also having dexterity problems, its good for my hands too.  I can't craft everyday, I can't always finish a project in one session, but that's the reason I love what I do, cos I can craft when my body lets me.

As so many people are sharing Christmas ideas, I thought maybe I should share some with you.  The card I'm going to share today and some over the next few days are from Hunkydory's Deco Christmas from last years release.  Very little is needed to complete this card, simple and effective. Uses just an a4 sheet of card acetate and a topper.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

Hunkydory adorablescorable cream cardstock with foiled swirls
A4 Foiled Snowflake Acetate
Couple Dancing Topper
Black Marabou Feathers
Sentiment
Paper trimmer/guillotine
Hougie Board
Double sided tape
Silicon Glue

Measure and cut the card to 6 x 9 inches, Using the hougie board score at 1,2,3.5,5 and 7 inches, fold into a concertina starting and finishing with a mountain fold. This becomes the base.  Also cut a 1 x 6 panel from the remaining card for the front of the card to cover your workings, a 2 x 6 for the roof of the card, and finally if card allows a 2 x 6 to cover the workings on the back of the card
Trim down the acetate to measure 6 inches wide, score in half and burnish the fold.  Attach to the card base by lining up with both edges, front and back.  Using the 2 x 6 piece of card, score in half and burnish, and fix this to the top of the acetate becoming a roof as it were.  With the remaining foiled cardstock, starting with the front 1 x 6 fix this the front of the card at the base, the other 2 x 6 fix to the back again to cover up your workings,
As the Acetate is very busy, I attached the topper to the fight hand side of the front using silicone glue.  The reason for doing so is because I didn't want the image lost inside the acetate attached to the centre step. Finally attach the sentiment again with the silicone glue and adhere the marabou feathers using the silicone to keep them secure.  Allow to dry fully.  The foiling does all the work on this card, with a little embellishment for extra glamour and glitz.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog.  Hope your time here has been of interest to you,  Thats all for now, until my next post, please take care, and look after yourself, keep smiling, its the best medicine.  Please feel free to leave any comments.  I value time and opinion so by all means leave yours.

Take care
Happy Crafting
Lots of Love

LADIES GOLF - REACHED THE 18TH

Hi Everyone in Blogland wherever you are in the world.  Hope the gorgeous warm weather is still with you.  To be fair, for us in Britain, this seems to be the 2nd running good summer we have had.  Bring it on I say.  My Doctor actually says to me, its a shame you can't get nice warm weather on prescription.  I have got to admit, I am not and have never really been into golf, although members of my family have.  My Dad, believe it or not even played in Snow - Mad I know, anyway warm weather and golf introduces my post for today. Its a ladies golf card.  I was told the favourite colour to include but the rest was down to me, I'd like to share it with you.

MATERIALS NEEDED

3 A4 sheets of White Centura Pearl
A5 sheet of purple card
Piece of Silver holographic thin card
A4 Embossilious Polka Dot Folder
Spellbinder Grande Circles
Glitter Girls - Keepsake Men's Board
Brilliance green moss ink
Brilliance Orchid ink
Brilliance - Pearlised Biege
Silver Peel off's

oDie Cut 3 Grande Circles, Emboss one of them using the Polka Dot Folder, the embossed circle becomes the front of the easel card. Cover the plain (bottom) section of the card with green ink, (brilliance dries very quickly),  Carefully using the purple ink, cover the patterned edge, leaving the whole centre white, dimpled to resemble a golf ball.
Using the Men's board, emboss around the golf bag twice once using purple card, then the white, emboss a further pocket on the golf bag, and finally another pocket in purple to complete the bag.  Using spare with card emboss the golf ball and tee and one more ball, finishing with the tuff of grass.  Ink them up using pink for the ball, green for grass and beige for the tee.
Build up the decoupage bag and use silver peel off to show detail clear.
To build the card and make the easel is simple to put together. Take to plain circle and score at 2 and 4 inches.
Attach this to the base card with the largest 4 inch section at the back, cover the front 2 inch section with double sided tape and adhere the embossed (golf ball) card.
Attach the golf bag, ball and turf to the front of the card. Complete with sentiments.  Make a stopper for the easel using silver holographic thin card and purple card. included  'You have reached the 18th' on the stopper.

Well thanks all for this post other than to say thank you for your visit and please feel free to come again.  I love sharing my love of papercrafting with you and hope you  get some ideas from me.  I take every comment seriously and if you feel like asking if I have a make you might like me to do, please say so.  I will do my very best.

Take care one and all
Keep smiling, happy crafting

Beatles Box Card

Hello people of BlogLand, wherever you are in the World.  If you are American, Happy 4th July. The weather here in Blackpool has taken a horrible turn for the worse, its raining hard, very hard and has been for hours.

For anyone who has been checking in on me, I am so sorry I haven't been around for a few days.  I've had terrible problems with dexterity and sleep.  When I say sleep, I should say staying awake.  It was nearly impossible at the start of the week.

The card I have chosen to blog today is an up cycle from a battered old book I found in a local secondhand shop.  My friend ask me to make a personalised card for a 9 year old who is mad on the Beatles.  The irony is the little girl was called Lucy.

MATERIALS REQUIRED

A4 Black Card ( I used Centura Pearl)
A4 Silver Holographic Thin Card
Pictures of the Group, (this started of as a complete picture I cut individually)
Off Cuts of Acetate
Two Star Flourishes by Joanna Sheen's Signature dies
Sentiment Peel off and Die Cut Letters spelling Lucy
Hougie Board
Tonic mini guillotine
Double sided tape
Wet Glue

Using the Hougie Board, lay the long side of the card across the board and score at 7, 14, 21, 28 cm.
Using a paper trimmer cut away a 3 cm strip from this side. Measure out 2 x 9 cm tabs, score at 1 and 8 cm, fold one side back and the other forward, so it resembles a 'z' adhere inside the box part of the card after the following steps
Turn the card round, short side across the top score through the first three panels at 10.5 cms down to 21cm and then from 28 cm to the edge of the card.
Cut away the small upper section from 28 to the end of the card, the bottom section will become a tag to attach the card together.
Cut the holographic into 6,5 cm strips. Cut one off at 18 cm and adhere to the inside back panel of the box card.
Cut a further 3 holographic mats at 6.5 x 7.5 cms.
Cut the beatles photo into 4 individual pics, measuring 5.5cm x 6.5 cm, layer these onto the holographic thin card and mat into place. I put Ringo at the Back, John at the front, George and Paul on the sides.
Use another piece of odd Black card and add a Happy Birthday sentiment.  Attached to a strip of Acetate and fix to the first/front bar at a angle within the inside of the box card,
Attach the star flourishes together with glue and attached in front of Ringo Starr, so his face has a clear view

Again attach a small piece of black card to Acetate and adhere to a smaller piece of acetate.
Adhere the name Lucy and decorate with a few hand cut diamonds , Lucy in the sky with diamonds.

Hope you have liked the fun aspect of this card and it does pay to look round for old images that can be made into a unique gift card.  It is one of a kind.
Stay well and smile, its the best medicine, Until next time,

Lots of Love

Floral Fashionista with Feathers

Happy Monday People of Blogland.  Hope you all had a lovely weekend whatever you were doing.  The sun was out in Blackpool yesterday and for once I actually sat out in it.  Couldn't believe how intense the heat was.  I've actually quite a good little sun trap in my garden, so couldn't sit out too long.  Crafting was calling  my name which inspired me with my share today.

The card is made from a fairly recent  Hunkydory kit called Floral Fashionista.  The kit itself consist of 4 cards.  They are kinetic format which automatically gives the inside of the card instant wow factor. As there is quite alot of foiling on the toppers, there was very little to do.  I wanted to give the card something extra so decided to add marabou feathers to the skirt.  The card took about 15 minutes to put together, but looks so effective, and went down really well with Frankie's (My son's girlfriend).

MATERIALS NEEDED

Green Card Blank and co-ordinating toppers
Foam pads and Double sided tape
3 Marabou Feathers Light Pink, Dusky Pink & Lavender from Stash
Pearls from my Stash

I chose the Green card blank as the topper had blonde hair.
Lay the card blank flat and place the toppers and sentiments where you want them to go. If you do this before you stick them down, you can easily move them about if you're not happy.
Fold the pre scored card bank into shape, I personally burnish to give a crisper finish, then attach the 8 inner sentiments. Securing 4 with foam pads and 4 with double sided tape on an alternate basis for dimension and interest.
The inside topper I attached with double sided tape.
Before attaching the topper to the front of the card I layered the marabou feather and shook them a few times to get them to mingle together then fastened them together with tape.  Line them up with the skirt, then attach the topper using foam pads to give some dimension.
Decorate with pearls.  For an added extra I personalised the card with her name along the ribbon using silver peel offs.

Thank you for taking the time to visit my blog.  Please feel free to leave a comment, good or bad, its your choice.  Hope you have a great day,  would love it if you could visit again.

Lots of Love and Hugs

Key to the Door

Happy Sunday people, where ever are in the World, hope you day will be enjoyable and relaxing.  I've had a busier than usual week this week, so I've been even more tired than usual.  I've been planning on starting my Christmas cards but every time I try, I'm ask to make a card for something or other.  I will get there as I really don't want to be left right to the last minute again.  So hopefully in the next couple of weeks I will share some of my Christmas makes.

Today's card was made for my friends Sons 21st Birthday an easel card.

MATERIALS NEEDED

Crafter's Companion Create a Card - Decadance
Snow White Centura Pearl (with a hint of silver)
Blue Holographic card
Silver Card
Signature Die - Ivy Flourish
Spellbinders - Key Dies
Glitter Girls Score board (Book-a-Trix)
Odd piece of Black card
Black Buttons
21 from my Stash
Oddment of Ribbon
Sentiment Peel Offs
Grand Calibre or Ebosser
Paper Trimmer/Guillotine
Bone folder
Hougie Board

Using your cutting Machine, Place Centura Pearl (Shiny side up) on the cutting board.  Carefully line up the create a card die with the card, cover with the base plate and pass through the machine.  Centura Pearl is a thicker card and could require more than one pass. Once the card has cut, emboss.  Remove the die and carefully line up again but turn the card over so now you are cutting into the underside.  As the edges of the die do not cut, make sure that the edge of the die is completely in line with the first die Cut.  Pass through as before.
Cut away the excess card. Keep only one of the aperture squares for later use
Line up the Holographic Blue Card with the Centura pearl and adhere. Using a hougie board score at 3 and 6 inches.Fold the card in Half, then fold then fold the front section back on itself, (a reverse gate fold).
Attach the cut out aperture (see photo) to the top of the front of the card
Using the Book-a-Trix score board, Score around the gift Tag on the reverse of the board, score both the larger tag using the Holographic card and the smaller with Centura Pearl.  Cut out carefully along the outside of the embossing.  Attach together, (Top tip - When scoring the larger tag, also score the small tag on the same card,  You know exactly where to line up and attach the smaller tag)
From the silver card, die cut a couple of Keys and an Ivy flourish.
Attach the keys to the Tag with Manly ribbon and adhere the '21' to the centre of the tag.
Adhere the Ivy flourish to the centre square,
Attach the Key tag to the centre of the square,
Finally, make a stopper using peel offs and a small piece of black card, and attach to the base of the card.
Embellish with the Buttons and the card is complete.

Thank you so much for taking time to visit little old me.  I love sharing my makes with you.  Well until next time, take care, stay happy and safe and above all keep smiling.

3 of a Kind

Good Morning People.  I'm still buzzing from the amount of comments I had on my last post.  I was over the moon to have so many of you come visit little old me.  I am really enjoying sharing my crafting journey with you.  I hope you have as much pleasure from looking as I get from making my cards.  It was my Daughter's school production last night.  Got to say I was so impressed by the young talent that graced the stage last night.  Was blown away by the ability of so many, but got to admit, was deafened by a few haha.

I'm posting a very quick card today as I'm going to a friends birthday day, yes . Lunch and shopping, then a dinner.  I know now I won't last the day,as I can't drink because of my Meds, but I get too tired by at least I'm always ask to go, which is nice for a change.  Really need to paint my nails lol.

I'm wittering on, so I'll get on with today's card which I call Winning Hand.  I love the quality of Hunkydory cardstock and this card came from one of their kits. The kit is called 'For the Men', which I'm fairly sure is still available. This kit is dedicated to Men and there interests.  There are 10 sets of Toppers, 10 foiled Cardstock and 10 matching Cardstock.  I personally think its a brilliant kit to have as they have covered everything from Football to Fishing and Gardening to Golf.

This is an easel Card, other than the kit there is very little needed.

MATERIALS USED

6 X 6 Card Blank
Gold Mirri Card
3 Playing Cards from the Die Cuts & 2 Sentiments
Matching Cardstock from the Kit
Paper Trimmer
Scissors
Score Board
Double sided Tape or glue

To make the easel card, take the 6 x 6 Card Blank. Cut away 2 inches from each side of one half of the card Blank.
Score the center section at 3 inches.  This will become the easel
Cover the base of the card with Gold Mirri Card
Cut a 6 x 2 strip of Gold Mirri and Score at the 3 in point, use this to cover the center section
Cut a 5.5 x 5.5 square from the Card Stock, keeping the playing cards to the right
Arrange the Cards as picture and attach to the easel slightly below the score line (make sure that the easel can move freely before securing permanently)
Finally attach the Sentiments to the card.  I used a circular one as the stopper and the rectangular on the easel base below the hand of cards.

Well people, that's all for now.  Thank you so much for visiting, please feel free to leave a comment, good or bad, they are all greatly appreciated.  Hope you all have a great day whatever it is you are doing.  I will be back in the creation station playing around.

Take Care and Keep Smiling (its the best medicine)

Bikini Weather

Good Afternoon people.  This upload has been inspired by the fabulous weather we have been having recently, but sods law I have just felt a spot of rain in Blackpool.

Just before get on with it, I'm just wanting to update you on yesterday's post.  At the very last minute, my Son's trip to Kenya has been cancelled. No doubt, he won't be hanging around for too long.

This is one of the easiest and most fun cards to make.  Very little is needed.  It can be dressed up or dressed down depending on its use or who its going to.

A4 Centura Pearl
A5 Card, I've used iced crackle black
Template from my stash
Pearlised Beige Brilliance Ink
Peel Off's
Foam Pads
Small piece of Acetate
Four Peel off flowers
Score board

Score the centura pearl in half to make an A5 card
Draw round the outside of the template and cut out.
Using the beige ink cover the complete card back and front. Allow to dry, Brilliance ink dries quite quickly
On the A5 card, draw around the outside of the template as well as the inside.  Cut out two cups, and the thong.  From the left over card, cut out two straps
Attach the straps at each end of the top of the card.
Using foam pads for dimension attach the cups of the bra,
On the reverse, again use foam pads for dimension attach the tong .
Decorate the bikini with silver flourishes and edging.
Attach four flowers (preferably 2 large and 2 small) to Acetate and cut out
Using small foam pads layer a small and large head on top of each other giving two flowers
Run a peel off to give the appearance of a necklace, Attach one flower to finish the necklace

Putting On the Deco Glamour

Hello Friends, Bloggers and potential Followers and welcome back to my little creation station where I can share my love of paper crafting with you.

It was warm here in Blackpool over the weekend, and I must confess, my Son was home until Sunday, so I sort of neglected my crafting to time with him as it will be at least a month before I see him again.  He's gone to Kenya with work, so praying for a safe return but hopes he enjoys the experience while he's there.

Back to the card I'm sharing with you today, some Deco Glamour to start the week.  The imagery is from Debbi Moore - Deco Rome cd.  The idea comes from within. I love the glitz and glamour of the deco era, and I hope that shows in my card.  So to a couple of photos.  The boxed card and the actual card inside

MATERIALS USED

FOR THE CARD
A5 CENTURA PEARL CARDSTOCK X 3
DECOUPAGE IMAGE FROM CD
BACKING PAPER FROM THE CD
SILVER HOLOGRAPHIC CARD
MARABOU FEATHERS
FAN TEMPLATE PRINT OFF FROM THE CD
PINFLAIR OR COLLALL 3D GLUE
DOUBLE SIDED FOAM PADS
GOLD STICKLES

Make up the decoupage topper, remember to fix the feather behind the images that include feathers,  I build up with foam pads, placing them in the centre of the back of the image.  It give the card some shape rather than being flat.  When the topper is finished set aside,
On the silver holographic, trace around the silver fan,cut out, following the instructions on the template, score and burnish the fan to give it shape and substance,
Attach this to the back of the topper.making sure that the card becomes no larger than 8 x 8 inch.
Make up an A5 Portrait Easel.  Prior to putting the card together place the topper including the fan on top, draw around it.  Then lay the topper on top of the front of the card mark off where you can see, then taking care, cut away the. Secure the topper to the front of the card.  Position the backing paper on the base of the easel card, cut away the excess and embellish,  I personally prefer this method.  I cut a small tag with happy birthday and personalise the name on it, layered this onto a small piece of holographic, fix this into place on the base of the easel card as a stopper.

FOR THE BOX

2 X A4 CENTURA PEARL (HINT OF SILVER)
A4 SHEET OF HEAVY WEIGHT ACETATE
PEEL OFF EDGING
CRAFTER'S COMPANION ULTIMATE PRO

This box is to fit an 8 x 8 card.  Centura pearl is excellent card with substance use for boxes.  Cut the card down to measure 10.5 x 10.5 inches. Both sides MUST be exactly the same size.
On the base side of the box maker, score around each side at 1in, I usually turn the card and score again on the underside, then make up the base of the box,
REMEMBER TO TURN THE PRO AROUND BEFORE YOU SCORE THE LID
Score around the lid at 1in on all sides making sure you are on the Lid side of the Ultimate Pro
Turn and score again on the underside.
Measure in an inch from the score lines on all four sides and cut out an aperture.  Cut the Acetate to 7.5 x 7.5 in, attach to the inside of the lid.  Make up the box lid. Decorate with Peel off''s to give the box an extra special finish.

That's all for today.  Thanks so much for your time in visiting me.  Hope you will drop by again soon.

Pirate Adventure

Hello again.  What fantastic weather we have been having this week. With that thought in mind I thought i'd share a card I made for a little boy who loves playing pirates.  Initially when I was asked to make a card with a pirate on it, I thought 'oh'. Wedding Gift Wallet

Crafty friends, followers and visitors.  Hope today finds you as well as can be.  This hot weather is absolutely wonderful, I think the sun makes you feel better.  When its very humid, I've got to admit I struggle.  Today's share is another style of gift card for a Wedding, although it could easily be used for another occasion.
The Wedding Theme was Cadbury's Purple, this fits the bill perfectly.  The envelope is made of an A4 sheet of Centura Pearl (Hint of Silver), this has been embossed with Spellbinders fancy lattice.
Made into a DL size, tri fold.  Mark the center point, then 3 cms from each edge and cut from the centre to each point. Giving the envelope its actual shape. Curve the edges for a professional finish.
Secure the sides using Super Sticky Red Liner tape.
Using 1mm purple bling, decorate the front panel following the lattice pattern,
Decorate each side of the envelope front using White Candi, by Craftwork Cards
To keep the envelope secure use a circular pad of velcro on the inside lip
Decorate with Cadbury's Purple Ribbon from Mei flower and flowers made from 2 Crafter's Companion small Sunflower quilling die and a daisy made by snipping into a circular hoop of paper then rolling to give the effect of a diasy, I got this idea from Anna Marie Designs,
Complete the flowers with Bling in the center and arrange around the ribbon.

Take a piece of purple card cut and score to make a card base 5 x 3 inches
Mat and Layer with Centura Pearl, and finish with a Spellbinders Rectanglar Sign
Some people think they are old fashioned by I still use my peel offs especially when it comes to personalising, but in this case I simply used '4 and U' and arranged on the panel.

Cut two 1 inch circles of the Background card to secure the rosette.  Attach to the front.

That's all for now crafty friends.  Thank you for stopping by.  Hope to see you again soon.

Pink Baby Shower

Hello again Crafty peeps.  Today I want to share a card I made for a Baby Shower.  I have never done one before, but I think times are changing and more and more different things are being celebrated.

My preference of basic cardstock is Centura Pearl.  I love it. Its versatile.  Brilliant for boxes as its sturdy, but equally good as a cardbase.

As you can see, I've used the Create a Card die by Crafters Companion Die'sire Range.  The chosen die is Decadance.  This is my personal favourite.  Its so versatile. I have also used the Cradle by Tattered Lace.
As you can see I only used the outer part Create a card.  I also cut 2 cradles, a white and pink.
The finished card is 8 x 8 and a side easel.
Materials used were;- 2 x A4 Lilac Centura Pearl card
                                  2 x A4 Pink Centura Pearl
2 x White (Hint of Silver) Centura Pearl
A small piece of double sided sticky paper ( to cut white cradle)
                                  1 x Silver Holographic card
Crushed Satin Pink Ribbon, enough for a double bow
An off cut of vellum and some peel offs.
A peel off of a stork on top off vellum.  Using a ball tool to gently raise the vellum and give the stork shape,

I hope you like today's share, that all until next time.  Take Care, and by for now.

ps.  Sorry about the quality of the second picture.  It wasn't very good lighting.

Thinking of You

Not everyone likes the word 'Sympathy'.  I know my Mum doesn't.  With this in mind, if I have ever need to make a condolence card, I tend to go for 'Thinking of you'.  This is only a small card (A6),

Once again I use my favourite Centura Pearl, (hint of Silver) from Crafter's Companion.
I also use embossed Centura Pearl from the Embossilious Folders again Crafter's Companion,
Silver Mirri Card
Black Crush Silk Ribbon
3 Ivy die cuts (Signature die)
A Lily from my stash and a bow
Make and A6 cardbase by Scoring an A5 in Half using Centura Pearl (hint of silver)
Wrap the ribbon across the embossed Card, securing on the back
Mat and Layer the Mirri and embossed cardstock
Arrange the Ivy die cuts and adhere with glue dots
Wrap the stem of the Lily around a pencil so you have a coil
Lay the lily in the centre of  the Ivy die cuts
Finish with a bow and a 'thinking of you' sentiment

I also use an insert for a professional finish

Thanks about it from me today.  Happy Crafting and hope to see you next time

Crafters Companion Create a card into a Box - My entry into Crafters Companion June Challenge

Hello Again My Crafty Buddies,
After winning the Card of the Month last month, I wondered how I could follow it up.  The brief, if you like is, box, bag or Tag. So I started to think outside the box as it were.  Create a card is a brilliant concept but I wondered if I could take the die further so I went into my Creation Station and had a play. This was the finish result.   Made from Centura Pearl with Snow Accents.  The flower is also made from Centura Pearl using another of the Quilling die'sire range.  Crafters Companion Die'sire range are so easy to use, and usually release from the die easily,

Crafters Companion Card of the Month May - Masculine

MAY CRAFTERS COMPANION CARD OF THE MONTH

THEME - MASCULINE

I can't believe its taken me nearly six months to sort my blog out.  I started to post then all of a sudden a message appeared on screen stating error.  Anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a lot of a technophobe and got into panic after panic and even sent the pc away incase there was something wrong with it.  It came back and again the same error message appeared.  I was going to just give in, but being named as the winner of Card of the Month gave me the push to sit down and work it out.  It turned out to be something so simple its actually laughable.  I had to switch to google chrome, simple as that.

I made this using the Camden Town Set
Cartography Cardstock
Topper and embellishments from the sheet
Heavyweight Actetate
Gold Mirri Candi
Strong Red Tape
Scissors and a Paper Trimmer

Cut the cardstock to 6 x 9 inches, score at 1, 2, 3.5, 5, and 7 in, fold a concertina style
Place the topper in the center step
Decorate the steps with stars
Measure the actetate at 6in on the short side and cut the length of A4, Score at A4 half, fold and burnish
Put tape on the front and back of the concertina along the base of the steps
Line the Acetate up with one side first and stick, then repeat
(now your card should resemble a tent)
Use some off the remaining cardstock to cover the top crease of the acetate,
cut a 2 by 6 in, score at 1in and place on top of the acetate, then cut 2 1 x 6 in pcs, use this to cover up
your workings
Embellish with bunting and envelopes on the front.
Add 2 pcs of gold candi to finish

<a href="http://www.bloglovin.com/blog/11689855/?claim=muqgdemnswc">Follow my blog with Bloglovin</a>
Hiya Crafty friends

Isn't he gorgeous

This was made for my Daughter's friend who like many is Peter Andre mad.
We used her favourite pose of him, I used my 3D master card builder cd, by Card Creations to create decoupage and also to create a backing paper, which we also used to wrap a present.,  Needless to say, she was a very happy girl.

The card itself is A5 easel in landscape format
To put the card together we used :-
A4 Centura Pearl from Crafts Companion
A5 Centura Pearl cardstock from Crafters Companion
The printed decoupage and images
Small piece of Silver mirri
Small piece of Black card
Peel offs for edging and alphabet for personalising
Black and white bow for the finishing touch
Ultimate Pro and a scoring tool
Double sided tape and foam pads

Lay card short side against the butt and score at A4 half and A4 gate
Fold and burnish in half and score and burnish A4 gate
Cover this panel with glue or double sided tape, making sure you don't go above the score line, as this becomes the easel, lay the A5 pcs again landscape on top.

Taking the Backing paper, cover the inside base of the card, making sure it is lined up.
Make up the decoupage image and attach to the front top.
Personal greeting
Edge the whole card with peel off for a polished look

Next to make the stopper for the easel
Using a Happy Birthday sentiment, add this to the small black piece of card
edge again
attach to the silver mirri
using a foam pad fix to the base
finally add the black and white bow, just to complete the look

Thank you again for popping by, I appreciate your time and hope you will pop by again.  Happy crafting, with love, Jo xx

Ben 10 Easel Card

Hi crafty friends,

Today, we have a little boys card.  This one is for a five year old. I found this image in a comic. It was perfect for what I had in mind. The finished card size is A5 Easel.

This is a very easy card, but very effective for any little boy who loves Ben 10.  But you could use any character you have an image for.  You will need:-

A4 Centura Pearl Card
A5 Centura Pearl Card
A4 Gold Mirri Card
A4 Green Card
Ben 10 images from a comic
3 x 2 in Holographic Green Card
2.5 x 1.5 in of Gold textured Card
2 x 1 in pc of Black Card
Alphabet Peel off
Green Colour bling to embellish
 Ultimate Pro Score Board
Double Sided tape and Foam Pads

Firstly to make the easel card, take the A4 card, short side against the butt end, score at A4 half and also A4 Gate.  Firstly fold and burnish in half, (to look like an A5 card), next fold and burnish the A4 gate fold, this .  This will become the base of the easel.
Cover the front panel with double sided tape or glue, (remembering, only cover up the score line as this will become the easel). Lay the card landscape, now attach the A5 card (landscape) directly ontoit.  This is now your easel card to decorate.
Cut the A4 Green card in half and attach to the front and inside base of the card,. I think this gives it a stronger structure.
Cut the Gold Mirri in half, giving 2 A5 pcs.  Cut an inch from the top and side, these will be matted onto the front and base giving a half inch border.
Using the main picture image, attach to the centre of the card, line up the base imagine and attach making sure that the imagery is in aliment.
To make the stopper, matt and layer, green holographic to the textured gold card, finally the black card.  Personalise with name and greeting and attach to the base.  Finally embellish with gems.

Thanks for taking your time to spot by my blog.  Hope you enjoy what I'm doing.  Please feel free to leave a comment, until next time, take care, stay safe and happy crafting, with love, Jo xx

Valentine Twisted Easel

 Hi Crafty Friends,

With Valentines day not very far away, its only right that I feature a valentine card.

Using an image from Crafter's Companion Popcorn bear.

For this you will need:-
6 x 6 card blank
valentine bear  decoupage , and co-ordinating backing paper
6 x 6 Silver Mirri Card
5.5 x 5.5 red Card, plus a small piece of red card for the stopper/sentiment  1 x 1.5
Silver edge peel offs
Red bow
Double sided tape or Collall Wet Glue and foam pads
A score board / score  tool

Firstly open out the card blank to completely flat.  Line up what will be the front of the card point to point diagonally, score, fold and burnish.  The front should now look like two triangles.
Cover the bottom half only with double side tape or glue and attach the 6 x 6 silver mirri card to cover the whole of the front, now it should look like a complete silver front panel.
Matt the red square card to this.
Cut out the decoupage base image and decoupage pieces and layer until complete, set aside.
Decorate the inside of the card base with co-ordinating paper, ensuring the images are the correct way,
Next attach the completed decoupage image to the front of the card.  For a more polished look, using peel off around all edges of the card.  Add a valentine sentiment to the remaining piece of red card stock, again use the peel off just to finish off and attach this as a stopper using a foam pad for added height.  Finally attach the red bow to the card to complete the look.

I love decoupage, it brings a card alive in my view. Well, until next time, Take Care, Happy Crafting, Jo xx

Handfasting Card

Hi Crafty Friends,

Once again, I thought I'd go for something different. I was asked to make a card for something I've never heard of. Handfasting of hand tieing is a wicker/pagan ceremony of marriage. As I'd never heard of it before, I was given an image to work with but that was it.  I came up with this.

The finished size of the card is 8 x 8.

You will need,
8 x 8 card blank
Gold mirri card
Red card
Black card
Gold holographic card
6 print outs of the issued image
 Red ribbon 12 km
Hougie board

Using hougie board, place card blank against the butt end and score at 2 inches. Open the card up, and repeat the score line on the inside of the card. This will become an edge.
Using the gold mirri card cut two pieces. One measuring 1.75 in x 7.75 in. The other 5.75 x 7.75. Mat this onto the card blank. Using strong red tape, stick the inside edges together.  Using red card cut this to 5.5 in x 7.5, mat this onto the mirri leaving a quarter inch border. Cut the gold holographic card to 5.25 in x 7.25, again mat onto the red card, again leaving a quarter inch border.  Finally cut the black card,  5 x 7. Layer this on the holographic card. The actual image size was slightly smaller than 5 x 7, which fit perfectly. I decoupaged the image to give 3D effect using 5 layers.   To finish the card I used paper roses around the corners. I also plaited the ribbon to the length of 8 inches. Attached this to the 2 in edge to complete the card.

Gilded Decorative Plaque

Hi Crafty Friends,

Today, I thought I'd share something different, well for me anyway.  This is the first time I've ever tried something like this, so to me it shows that anybody can have a go at trying something new.

You will need:-
A Square Chipboard Plaque
I used (bronze metallic) acrylic paint on the base (you can choose any colour you like)
Sand Acrylic paint
PVA Glue and a paint brush, which about an inch bristle head
Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Glue or Flitter Glue
Gilding Flakes
Spellbinders Filagree Vase
Small piece of Black Card
Small piece of Double sided Sticky Sheet
5 pcs of Florist Wire
5 Decorative Flower Heads
Pinflair Silicone Glue

First Paint the Plaque with your chosen base paint, acrylic doesn't take long to dry, but if you have a heat tool, give it a quick blast just to speed things along, then paint the reverse side.
When completely dry the next step is to cover one side with quite a thick coating of PVA glue, Don't forget to rinse your brush out.
When the glue starts to feel tacky, start to paint over the tacky surface with the Sand Coloured Acrylic Paint. MAKE SURE THAT THE PAINT STROKES ARE IN THE SAME DIRECTION, THIS IS IMPORTANT.  You will notice that in parts the sand paint shrinks away, giving a distressed/aged look to the plague.  This is exactly the look you want to achieve.
Again, use a heat tool to aid in the drying time, but wait until fully dry until you begin to decorate.
Using the Cosmic Shimmer Glitter glue and the edge of the paint brush cover around the edge of the square, it does not have to be neat, just make sure the edges are covered,
Next using gliding flakes, cover the glued area on all four sides.  (A little goes along way), next gently rub away the excess flakes leaving a nice shining edge.
Taking a small piece of black card, (on the part you will use for the filigree, cover with a small piece of double sided sticky, keeping the backing attached at this point) cut both parts of the Spellbinders filigree vase.
Peel the double sided sheet off, again using the gliding flakes cover the filigree inside part of the vase.  Then using the outside part of the die, attach to make a complete vase with the black showing through the pattern.  Set aside,
Using the Florist Wire, to make a stem about a third of the way up the wire start to wrap around a pencil/pen until you have the remaining third left, repeat with the other four wires.
Again, back to the filigree vase, shape to give a curved, authentic look.  Centre the vase, wires and flower heads, before sticking to the plaque.  This gives you time to decide where it look right.  When you have done this, attach the vase, using pinflair, then pushing the wire stems into the pinflair, decorate with the flower heads, obviously hiding the stem underneath the flower head.  Decorative plague is now complete.  Although the picture doesn't show it, use either string or ribbon to make a loop to display.  I hope you have a go at trying this technique, which I must admit I learnt from Jo Channon at a Demo day in Preston.  It does make a change to try something new.  If I can do it anyone can.  Until the next time, stay safe and well, Jo xx

More than just a Money Wallet

Hi Crafty friends.

I thought I'd start our crafty journey with a Money Wallet. A lot of people these days tend to ask for money rather than a wedding present. So, with that in mind I came up with this.
I used a peice of A4 Hunkydory foiled swirly card stock. Using my ultimate pro, I scored along the DL line, turned the card and scored along the DL line again. Fold into shape, bottom up and top down. To give this an envelope look, from the centre of the card, measure from each side an inch up from the bottom of the top flap. Put a small mark at the centre point. Cut to the centre creating a curve edge on both sides.  Next using super sticky tape, on the centre panel put 3mm tape on each side of the panel. Attached the bottom section to the middle making sure both sides are stuck together properly.  I used a double sided velco dot to fasten the envelope together.

To decorate, I cut two Spellbinders vines of passion hearts, using 2 outside prices and 2 filagree parts. I overlapped the two together at an angle and attached to the envelope. I next cut some roses which I coloured with the colour theme of the wedding. I mounted these onto coordinating ribbon and some white net and arranged on top of the entwined hearts.

For the gift card. I took a piece of white Centura pearl, cut it to 6in x 6 in. I then scored it in half to make a card of 6in x 3in.  Cut a peice of black card measuring 5 3/4 x 2 3/4. Matt this to the centura pearl leaving a quarter inch boarder. Cut another piece of white centura pearl 5 1/2 x 2 1/2, matt and layer this too. I cut a spellbinder rectangular sign in silver mirri and attached to the card. I then cut a black peice to fit inside the sign. Using silver peel off letters and numbers wrote 4 u. This completed the money wallet, in my opinion making I stand out from the rest.  Bye for Now, Jo xx
