Hiya Crafty friends

 

Isn't he gorgeous

 

 

 

This was made for my Daughter's friend who like many is Peter Andre mad. 

We used her favourite pose of him, I used my 3D master card builder cd, by Card Creations to create decoupage and also to create a backing paper, which we also used to wrap a present.,  Needless to say, she was a very happy girl.

 

The card itself is A5 easel in landscape format

To put the card together we used :-

A4 Centura Pearl from Crafts Companion

 A5 Centura Pearl cardstock from Crafters Companion

The printed decoupage and images

Small piece of Silver mirri

Small piece of Black card

Peel offs for edging and alphabet for personalising

Black and white bow for the finishing touch

Ultimate Pro and a scoring tool

Double sided tape and foam pads

 

Lay card short side against the butt and score at A4 half and A4 gate

Fold and burnish in half and score and burnish A4 gate

Cover this panel with glue or double sided tape, making sure you don't go above the score line, as this becomes the easel, lay the A5 pcs again landscape on top.

 

Taking the Backing paper, cover the inside base of the card, making sure it is lined up.

Make up the decoupage image and attach to the front top.

Personal greeting

Edge the whole card with peel off for a polished look

 

Next to make the stopper for the easel

Using a Happy Birthday sentiment, add this to the small black piece of card

attach to the silver mirri

using a foam pad fix to the base

finally add the black and white bow, just to complete the look

Ben 10 Easel Card

Hi crafty friends,

Today, we have a little boys card.  This one is for a five year old. I found this image in a comic. It was perfect for what I had in mind. The finished card size is A5 Easel.





This is a very easy card, but very effective for any little boy who loves Ben 10.  But you could use any character you have an image for.  You will need:-

A4 Centura Pearl Card
A5 Centura Pearl Card
A4 Gold Mirri Card
A4 Green Card
Ben 10 images from a comic
3 x 2 in Holographic Green Card
2.5 x 1.5 in of Gold textured Card
2 x 1 in pc of Black Card
Alphabet Peel off
Green Colour bling to embellish
 Ultimate Pro Score Board
Double Sided tape and Foam Pads

Firstly to make the easel card, take the A4 card, short side against the butt end, score at A4 half and also A4 Gate.  Firstly fold and burnish in half, (to look like an A5 card), next fold and burnish the A4 gate fold, this .  This will become the base of the easel. 
Cover the front panel with double sided tape or glue, (remembering, only cover up the score line as this will become the easel). Lay the card landscape, now attach the A5 card (landscape) directly ontoit.  This is now your easel card to decorate.
Cut the A4 Green card in half and attach to the front and inside base of the card,. I think this gives it a stronger structure. 
Cut the Gold Mirri in half, giving 2 A5 pcs.  Cut an inch from the top and side, these will be matted onto the front and base giving a half inch border.
Using the main picture image, attach to the centre of the card, line up the base imagine and attach making sure that the imagery is in aliment.
To make the stopper, matt and layer, green holographic to the textured gold card, finally the black card.  Personalise with name and greeting and attach to the base.  Finally embellish with gems.

Valentine Twisted Easel

 

 Hi Crafty Friends,

With Valentines day not very far away, its only right that I feature a valentine card. 

Using an image from Crafter's Companion Popcorn bear.



For this you will need:-
6 x 6 card blank
 valentine bear  decoupage , and co-ordinating backing paper
6 x 6 Silver Mirri Card
5.5 x 5.5 red Card, plus a small piece of red card for the stopper/sentiment  1 x 1.5
Silver edge peel offs
Red bow
Double sided tape or Collall Wet Glue and foam pads
A score board / score  tool

Firstly open out the card blank to completely flat.  Line up what will be the front of the card point to point diagonally, score, fold and burnish.  The front should now look like two triangles.
Cover the bottom half only with double side tape or glue and attach the 6 x 6 silver mirri card to cover the whole of the front, now it should look like a complete silver front panel.
Matt the red square card to this.
Cut out the decoupage base image and decoupage pieces and layer until complete, set aside.
Decorate the inside of the card base with co-ordinating paper, ensuring the images are the correct way,
Next attach the completed decoupage image to the front of the card.  For a more polished look, using peel off around all edges of the card.  Add a valentine sentiment to the remaining piece of red card stock, again use the peel off just to finish off and attach this as a stopper using a foam pad for added height.  Finally attach the red bow to the card to complete the look.

Handfasting Card

Once again, I thought I'd go for something different. I was asked to make a card for something I've never heard of. Handfasting of hand tieing is a wicker/pagan ceremony of marriage. As I'd never heard of it before, I was given an image to work with but that was it.  I came up with this.

The finished size of the card is 8 x 8.

You will need,
8 x 8 card blank
Gold mirri card
Red card
Black card
Gold holographic card
6 print outs of the issued image
 Red ribbon 12 km
Hougie board

Using hougie board, place card blank against the butt end and score at 2 inches. Open the card up, and repeat the score line on the inside of the card. This will become an edge.
Using the gold mirri card cut two pieces. One measuring 1.75 in x 7.75 in. The other 5.75 x 7.75. Mat this onto the card blank. Using strong red tape, stick the inside edges together.  Using red card cut this to 5.5 in x 7.5, mat this onto the mirri leaving a quarter inch border. Cut the gold holographic card to 5.25 in x 7.25, again mat onto the red card, again leaving a quarter inch border.  Finally cut the black card,  5 x 7. Layer this on the holographic card. The actual image size was slightly smaller than 5 x 7, which fit perfectly. I decoupaged the image to give 3D effect using 5 layers.   To finish the card I used paper roses around the corners. I also plaited the ribbon to the length of 8 inches. Attached this to the 2 in edge to complete the card.

Gilded Decorative Plaque

Today, I thought I'd share something different, well for me anyway.  This is the first time I've ever tried something like this, so to me it shows that anybody can have a go at trying something new.

You will need:-
A Square Chipboard Plaque
I used (bronze metallic) acrylic paint on the base (you can choose any colour you like)
Sand Acrylic paint
PVA Glue and a paint brush, which about an inch bristle head
Cosmic Shimmer Glitter Glue or Flitter Glue
Gilding Flakes
Spellbinders Filagree Vase
Small piece of Black Card
Small piece of Double sided Sticky Sheet
5 pcs of Florist Wire
5 Decorative Flower Heads
Pinflair Silicone Glue

First Paint the Plaque with your chosen base paint, acrylic doesn't take long to dry, but if you have a heat tool, give it a quick blast just to speed things along, then paint the reverse side.
When completely dry the next step is to cover one side with quite a thick coating of PVA glue, Don't forget to rinse your brush out.
When the glue starts to feel tacky, start to paint over the tacky surface with the Sand Coloured Acrylic Paint. MAKE SURE THAT THE PAINT STROKES ARE IN THE SAME DIRECTION, THIS IS IMPORTANT.  You will notice that in parts the sand paint shrinks away, giving a distressed/aged look to the plague.  This is exactly the look you want to achieve.
Again, use a heat tool to aid in the drying time, but wait until fully dry until you begin to decorate.
Using the Cosmic Shimmer Glitter glue and the edge of the paint brush cover around the edge of the square, it does not have to be neat, just make sure the edges are covered,
Next using gliding flakes, cover the glued area on all four sides.  (A little goes along way), next gently rub away the excess flakes leaving a nice shining edge.
Taking a small piece of black card, (on the part you will use for the filigree, cover with a small piece of double sided sticky, keeping the backing attached at this point) cut both parts of the Spellbinders filigree vase.
Peel the double sided sheet off, again using the gliding flakes cover the filigree inside part of the vase.  Then using the outside part of the die, attach to make a complete vase with the black showing through the pattern.  Set aside,
Using the Florist Wire, to make a stem about a third of the way up the wire start to wrap around a pencil/pen until you have the remaining third left, repeat with the other four wires.
Again, back to the filigree vase, shape to give a curved, authentic look.  Centre the vase, wires and flower heads, before sticking to the plaque.  This gives you time to decide where it look right.  When you have done this, attach the vase, using pinflair, then pushing the wire stems into the pinflair, decorate with the flower heads, obviously hiding the stem underneath the flower head.  Decorative plague is now complete.  Although the picture doesn't show it, use either string or ribbon to make a loop to display.  I hope you have a go at trying this technique, which I must admit I learnt from Jo Channon at a Demo day in Preston.  It does make a change to try something new.  If I can do it anyone can.  Until the next time, stay safe and well, Jo xx

 

More than just a Money Wallet

Hi Crafty friends.

I thought I'd start our crafty journey with a Money Wallet. A lot of people these days tend to ask for money rather than a wedding present. So, with that in mind I came up with this.
I used a peice of A4 Hunkydory foiled swirly card stock. Using my ultimate pro, I scored along the DL line, turned the card and scored along the DL line again. Fold into shape, bottom up and top down. To give this an envelope look, from the centre of the card, measure from each side an inch up from the bottom of the top flap. Put a small mark at the centre point. Cut to the centre creating a curve edge on both sides.  Next using super sticky tape, on the centre panel put 3mm tape on each side of the panel. Attached the bottom section to the middle making sure both sides are stuck together properly.  I used a double sided velco dot to fasten the envelope together.

To decorate, I cut two Spellbinders vines of passion hearts, using 2 outside prices and 2 filagree parts. I overlapped the two together at an angle and attached to the envelope. I next cut some roses which I coloured with the colour theme of the wedding. I mounted these onto coordinating ribbon and some white net and arranged on top of the entwined hearts.

For the gift card. I took a piece of white Centura pearl, cut it to 6in x 6 in. I then scored it in half to make a card of 6in x 3in.  Cut a peice of black card measuring 5 3/4 x 2 3/4. Matt this to the centura pearl leaving a quarter inch boarder. Cut another piece of white centura pearl 5 1/2 x 2 1/2, matt and layer this too. I cut a spellbinder rectangular sign in silver mirri and attached to the card. I then cut a black peice to fit inside the sign. Using silver peel off letters and numbers wrote 4 u. This completed the money wallet, in my opinion making I stand out from the rest.  Bye for Now, Jo xx
